Qigong Sensory Training
Wednesday August 18, 2010

Qigong Sensory Training Institute

The unique course is being sponsored beginning in August 2010 by Reservoir Family Wellness but is offered through the Qigong Sensory Training Institute, based in Oregon. Trainers from the Institute will be coming East to provide training to occupational therapists, physical therapists, autism specialists and Chinese medical practitioners (see www.qsti.org for a full description of the training). The training is five months in length and includes training and direct supervision in the QST Home Program as well as QST trainer qigong.

The dates are as follows:
August 18-22 (initial training)
Sept. 9 or 10 and 13 or 14 (supervision sessions)
Sept. 25 (webinar - end of 1st series presentation)
Oct. 22 or 23 and 26 or 27 (supervision sessions)
Nov. 21 (webinar - end of 2nd series presentation)
Dec. 19 (webinar - exit interview review)

Each trainer will recruit and work with one child and family during this five-month course. The course will begin with five days of theory and practice in the massage, and will be followed by four months during which the trainer will give the child the intervention. During this time, trainers will be supervised on-site by a QST master trainer on six occasions while giving the treatment, and will submit weekly reports to the master trainer. There will be two additional didactic sessions during the intervention and the exit interview, which you will conduct with the parents/caregivers of the child with which you have worked.

You will leave the training with the materials in hand, as well as training in the QST trainer qigong, the second component in the QST dual intervention.
